Cooking in an underground pit

When you've got a great hook-up for quality firewood, you'll come up with unique ways to use it...

This was my fifth cook underground and by far the best pork to date. This method is surprisingly easy but it is time consuming, at least on the forefront of this venture. At the basics you need a 24" deep pit slightly longer and wider as the food you are sticking in it. You will also need an ample amount of firewood, a piece of sheet metal to cover your cook and preferably the dirt that came out of the hole that will be placed back on top of the sheet metal to insulate your underground over.
